President's Message

And so I welcome you to Kehillah Chadashah, the new Reconstructionist Jewish community in Northeast Florida. Here we strive to create a haimesh community, welcoming all who care to join us. Kehillah Chadashah is built on the premise of authenticity - helping each other, our community and humankind. We seek and provide opportunities for spirituality, lifelong learning, sharing and connecting.

Kabbalah teaches that God created the world by forming vessels of light to hold the Divine Light. But as God poured the Light into the vessels, they catastrophically shattered. Thus, our world consists of countless shards of the original vessels entrapping sparks of the Divine Light. It is our responsibility to gather these sparks, restoring the broken world – engaging in acts of tikkun olam.

As a Reconstructionist congregation, we invite you to join us and help shape our community and congregation. Join us in gathering the sparks and experience the electricity describe by Buber.

Welcome to Kehillah Chadashah!

Currently, we hold services once a month and will soon be starting two services every other month.  We also started a new chapter of No’Ar Hadash a Jewish Youth Group for teens ages 13-18 with a focus on social action.

As a member of a Reconstructionist Congregation in South Florida, I am excited that we now have Kehillah Chadashah and the ideals of Reconstructionist Judaism which are so parallel to my own.

I invite you to join us we develop and evolve.  I invite you to be a part of something new and exciting, meaningful and fulfilling!  I welcome you to our “new community” –  to Kehillah Chadashah where you can live out your ideals!
